Impact Books partners with a variety of organisations giving away books for free. Whoever provided you with your unique discount code really does just want to give free copies of these books to people who are interested in learning and thinking about the ideas.

Impact Books asks for some of your personal information at the checkout but this is only to ensure that we can fulfil your delivery and to improve the service that we operate. We will never sell this information to anyone for any reason.

If you have been redirected to this site by one of our partners then you should have been given a unique discount code which will be entered automatically at checkout. It is also possible that whoever directed you to this site gave you a discount code to enter manually. These discount codes will ensure that the book is free and you will not have to enter any payment information.

The books are listed with a cost to stop people coming to the site and buying books without discount codes. We don't expect anyone to actually buy the books through our site. For people looking to buy a copy of one of these books themselves there is almost always a better price that they can find elsewhere - better than any price that we could realistically offer.

The intention of this website is to provide an interface for book giveaways rather than to sell books to anyone. If you are being asked to actually pay then you have not been given a valid discount code and we would like to apologise for the inconvenience. Please get in touch with whoever directed you to this site and ask them to provide you with a discount code to get your free book.

If you found our site yourself then we encourage you to take inspiration from the selection of books that you see and view them as a curated reading list of interesting books about some of the biggest problems facing humanity. We encourage you to purchase these books elsewhere and explore the topics discussed by them in greater depth.

On our homepage you will find a small selection of books that we have found particularly useful for thinking about how to solve some of the biggest problems facing humanity. We don't agree with every idea or argument in these books. But we do think all the ideas are important, and deserve to be more widely read and discussed. This list is by no means comprehensive and we encourage you to read much more widely, including relevant criticism of the ideas contained in these books.

If you have been redirected to our site by one of our partner organisations then you will see the selection of books that they are giving away. These lists are maintained that the discretion of our partners and we have not read, and so cannot endorse, all the books in these collections. If for whatever reason you take issue with a particular books being on a list or think that a new one should be added, then please contact our support team explaining your reasoning and we will endeavour to pass this information on.

We are working hard to find a way to offer eBooks and Audiobooks for as many titles as possible.

Unfortunately (and somewhat surprsingly) the cost associated with providing an eBook and Audiobook is the main factor why we haven't been able to roll out a full selection of formats for many titles. They are simply much more expensive than paperbacks. If you are not asked to choose between formats on the product page, then the only available format will be paperback.

If, for whatever reason, receiving a paperback would make its content inaccessible to you then please reach out to our customer support team who will do their best to get you an Audiobook version of the book. 

If you choose the Audible format then we will send an Audible gift to your email. You must have an Audible account in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, or Spain to redeem this gift. When checking out your address must be in the same country/region as your Audible account to make sure that you can redeem your gift.

The best way to change your order is to contact our support team. If an order has already been shipped, we won't be able to make any changes to your order and you would need to place a new order.

Unfortunately, we do not currently offer tracking information.

We do our best to ensure that all customs duties are pre-paid by Impact Books, however, occasionally customs officials do ask for payment from recipients. If this happens you can:

1. Tell the customs official that the book is a free gift and that the fee should have already been paid by the sender.
2. Pay the customs fee yourself (it is usually a fairly affordable amount).
3. Contact our support team who may pay the import duty at their discretion. They will need proof of your correspondence with customs to make an assessment and can only pay customs directly (they cannot reimburse you for any amount paid by you to customs).

If your country is listed above, we'd like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

Often orders outside of North America and Europe can take a long time to arrive, please check the average delivery times for your location under "When will my book get delivered?". If you have waited for more than double the average delivery time for your location then please contact our support team who will look into what has happened and may process a repeat order at their discretion.

The chance of this happening is very rare but it could happen. Please take pictures of a product which shows the item/defect clearly & contact our support team to check if it's eligible for replacement.
